She was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 1953.
She lost her sense of sight and hearing at the age of 19 months.
She inspired millions of people across the world.
She travelled to over 39 countries.
She won many posthumous honours.
She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in the year 1964.
She wrote the famous book “The Story of My Life”, which is her autobiography.
Helen Keller died in her sleep on June 1, 1968.
