Major Dhyan Chand was a legendary Indian hockey player.

He was born on August 29, 1905, in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. 

His father’s name was Sameshwar Singh, and his mother’s name was Sharadha Singh. 

Dhyan Chand played hockey for the Indian team from 1926 to 1948. 

He won three Olympic gold medals with the Indian team in 1928, 1932 and 1936. 

Major Dhyan Chand’s skill with the hockey stick was legendary, and he was known as the ‘wizard’ of hockey. 

He was known for his superb ball control and the ability to score goals from seemingly impossible angles.
