तात्या टोपे का जन्म 16 फरवरी 1814 को नासिक, महाराष्ट्र, भारत में हुआ था।
उनका असली नाम रामचंद्र पाण्डुरंग यवलकर था।
उनके पिता का नाम पांडुरंग राव टोपे और माता का नाम रुखमाबाई था।
1857 के महान विद्रोह में उनकी भूमिका सबसे महत्वपूर्ण, प्रेरणादायक और बेजोड़ थी।
वह विद्रोहियों का सबसे अच्छा और सबसे कुशल सेनापति था।

Tatya Tope was a prominent general of India’s first freedom struggle.
Tatya Tope was born on 16 February 1814 in Nashik, Maharashtra, India.
His real name was Ramchandra Panduranga Yawalkar.
His father’s name was Pandurang Rao Tope and his mother’s name was Rukhmabai.
His role in the Great Revolt of 1857 was most significant, inspirational and unmatched.
He was the best and most efficient general of the rebels.
He was given the title Tope, which means commanding officer.
Tatya Tope was a Maratha Vashista Brahman.
During his lifetime, he fought 150 battles against the British and killed 10,000 British soldiers.
On 18 April 1859, he was hanged in General Meade’s camp at Shivpuri.
The Nana Rao Park in Kanpur was made in honour of Nana Sahib and Tatya Tope.
