He was the father of the great Mughal emperor Akbar.

He was known for his cultural interests and was a patron of the arts and architecture.
He also loved painting and wrote poetry in the Persian language.
He died in 1556 after accidentally falling down a staircase in his library.
He was succeeded by his son Akbar.
Humayun’s tomb in Delhi is considered one of the first examples of Mughal architecture in India and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
